Iraq's oil exports highest since 2003

(MENAFN) Iraqi government official reported that Iraqi exports of crude oil increased to 2.16 million barrels a day this month, thus hitting a new record after Iraq's Kurdistan started pumping oil to Baghdad, reported Gulf News. The official said that Iraq did not export such an amount since the American invasion back in 2003. He said that the increase in exports was possible after Kurdistan started providing Baghdad with 75,000 bpd, up from only 10,000. He also said that by the end of February, Kurdistan is expected to pump 100,000 bpd to Baghdad and after that the number would be gradually increased to 200,000. This would increase the country's oil exports to around 2.2 million bpd.
