    GM ME's H1 sales up by 22%

    (MENAFN) General Motors Middle East Operations' president and managing director, John Stadwick, said that in the first half of this year, GM car sales in the Middle East rose 22 percent compared with the same period in 2010 reaching 67,624 units, reported Arabian business. Stadwick added that in the period, retail sales went up by 54 percent representing 71 percent of total sales. On the other hand, passenger vehicles' sales grew by 26 percent, whereas combined sales of SUVs and crossovers rose 19 percent and pickups' sales surged 37 percent. He also said that the growth in sales for GM's passenger cars, crossovers, sport utility vehicles and pickups across its three brands Chevrolet, GMC and Cadillac was recorded throughout the region. It is worth noting that GM's Middle East car sales grew 27 percent in June on a monthly basis, recording the sixth consecutive month in this year of double-digit sales growth.
