Abu Dhabi Media Co slashes 100 broadcast jobs

(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Media Company (ADM), a state-backed media operator, cut 100 jobs from its broadcast division and is considering more streamlining, reported Arabian Business. The memo did not say how many jobs were cut, but The National newspaper, which is operated by ADM, said that there were about 100 redundancies. Frank Mooty, acting CEO of the media company said in a staff memo that the cuts would be in the broadcast division, which controls five radio stations and five TV stations. The revamping comes after the June announcement that Malcom Wall, ex-Virgin Media executive, would replace Ed Borgerding as CEO starting September 1st.
