Airbus to surpass its expectations in ME

(MENAFN)Airbus' president for Middle East, Habib Fekih, stated that the company is going to surpass its anticipated orders for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region with the assist of some contracts which are expected to be settled at Dubai Air Show in November, reported Arabian Business. He said that the company would be ending 90 "triple-digit order book" orders. Qatar Airways was expected to be one of the airlines to purchase Airbus planes at Dubai Air Show. However, Qatar Airways signed contracts with US rival Boeing. Regarding other regional air companies like Emirates and Eithad Airways, Fekih stated that Airbus did not have any deal with them. Fekih explained that the Arab world uprising events reflected negatively on traffic movement in which the company had to reschedule some deliveries, but every thing is moving smoothly in the rest of the region. It is worth mentioning that Middle East region is seen as a fertile market for Airbus in which Middle East airlines have 9.5 percent of Airbus's orders. Also, although the region's fleet is regarded as one of the youngest in the world, they account for 15 percent of the firm's over all sales.
