    Dubai to open Metro's Green Line early Sep

    (MENAFN) Dubai's Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said that the emirate would launch the Metro's Green Line early September which would allow rail users to change between the metro's Green and Red Line at Union and Khalid bin Al Waleed stations, reported Arabian Business. The RTA added that the Green Line would add to the rail network another 18 stations and 23 more kilometers, furthermore, all stations on the Green Line would be opened to users excluding Al Jadfa and Creek Stations since companies didn't finish work on the real estate projects served by these stations. It also said that when the Green Line would fully operate, the number of commuters using both the Red Line and the Green Line would be expected to grow to 250,000 a day from 190,000 a day; in addition, the number of trains operating on both lines would go up to 50 during peak times and 28 during off-peak times. It is worth noting that of the 2,000 employees operating the Green Line, more than 10 percent will be UAE nationals.
