Qatar Airways to raise Iran services to 52 weekly flights

(MENAFN) Qatar Airways CEO, Akbar Al Baker, said that in order to meet growing demand over flights from and to Iran, the carrier would raise the number of its flights to the Islamic republic to 52 weekly flights, reported Arabian Business. Al Baker added that starting next month, the airline would add 31 weekly flights to the country; moreover, it would add the Isfahan destination to its map. He also said that the new services would be operated by Airbus A320 aircrafts with business and economy seats, adding that the carrier might offer domestic services in Iran under a code-sharing agreement with Iranian airlines in order to abide by laws excluding foreign carriers from domestic routes. It is worth noting that Qatar Air started its Iran services in 2004 with flights to Tehran, followed by flights to Mashhad and then Shiraz.
