Thomas Cook to broaden offerings to UAE

(MENAFN) London-based Thomas Cook unveiled plans to offset losses caused by the Arab Spring by boosting its holiday packages to the UAE next year, Arabian Business reported. Europe's second largest tour operator said it plans to take advantage of UAE's stable status by including more emirates into its tour offerings to the Gulf state. A spokesperson said Thomas Cook expanded offerings to include Ras Al Khaimah, Ajman and in Dubai on The Palm. Abu Dhabi has been extended to include desert, beaches and island experiences, including Yas Island. Egypt previously accounted for around seven percent of Thomas Cook's profits before the country's political unrest which saw its President Husni Mubarak's government overthrown. Arab Tourism Organization said that Arab Spring caused the region lose USD7 billion of tourism cash.
