GCC's private school sector to expand rapidly by 2020

(MENAFN) Booz & Company, the US management consulting firm, said that since parents wanted better education for their children, by 2020, private school sector in the Arab Gulf region would expand three fold, reported The National. The firm added that private school market in the GCC would be forecasted to grow to around USD17 billion over the next ten years, from USD5.2 billion already paid in annual tuition fees. It also said that the growth would result from expanding population and the search for quality, since private schools offered better educational experiences. It is worth noting that Saudi has the largest potential for growth, since only 14 percent of the country's students attend private schools, and 11 percent of them were nationals, whereas 88 percent of Dubai's students attend private schools, 55 percent of them are nationals.
