    S. Sudan maintains oil production halt

(MENAFN) South Sudan's minister of petroleum and mining, Stephen Dhieu Dau, announced that the state is resuming the halt imposed on oil production for as long as it takes Sudan to submit to the southern country's demands, reported AP. The minister said that the demands are for Sudan to accept South Sudan's offer to pay a single dollar per barrel in exchange of using Sudan's pipelines for oil exports, in addition to USD2.4 billion dollar financial assistance package. These statements come within the same week South Sudan halted oil productions claiming that Khartoum was stealing hundreds of millions of dollars worth of oil.
