    Abu Dhabi posts 0.7% rise in Jan-Feb inflation

    (MENAFN) Statistics Center - Abu Dhabi (Scad) said that during the first two months of the current year, the emirate's consumer price index (CPI) grew 0.7 percent from the same period a year ago, reported Emirates 24/7. The agency added that in February, average consumer prices went up by 0.6 percent from the same period in 2011, with the most significant individual rise resulting from higher prices for restaurants and hotels which increased by 9.7 percent. It also said that when compared with January, average consumer prices fell by 0.1 percent in February, with prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages recording the most significant declines by 1.2 percent. It is worth noting that consumer prices for national households increased by 0.9 percent last month compared with 2011's same period, and grew 0.2 percent for non-national households and 0.4 percent for share households, whereas consumer prices for non-national households dropped by 0.2 percent from January 2012.
