Singapore forecasts to post 10% rise in GCC visitors

(MENAFN) The Singapore Tourism Board's (STB) Area Director for the Middle East and Africa, Mohammad Hafez Marican, stated that during this summer season, the number of tourists from the GCC who will visit Singapore is expected to grow 10 percent from 2011's same period, reported Gulf News. Marican attributed the forecasted increase to the launch of several new attractions and the renovation of the existing ones. On the other hand, he said that during this year's first quarter, the number of UAE visitors who arrived to Singapore jumped by over 18 percent from last year's same period to 14,280. It is worth noting that tourists from Saudi who arrived to Singapore during 2012's first 3 months grew 36.3 percent from 2011.
