Saudi Arabia to set up first women-only industrial city

(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia unveiled plans to set up its first women-only industrial city, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. The development plan was approved by Prince Mansour bin Miteb bin Abdulaziz, Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, according to SPA. The Authority of Industrial Cities and Technological Zones (Modon) said it has started planning the development of the industrial city in Hofouf city, Ahsa governorate. Modon's acting director general Saleh Al-Rashid indicated that the authority was currently working to establish a second female industrial city. Most working women in the Gulf Kingdom were looking to achieve greater financial independence through their careers or being able to financially contribute to the household, according to a survey conducted by YouGov and Bayt.com in July.
