US: Saudi plans to acquire USD300m military equipments

(MENAFN) The US Defense Security Cooperation Agency stated that it has received an order from Saudi Arabia to acquire military equipment spare parts in a deal estimated to cost USD300 million, reported Arabian Business. The agency, part of the US Department of Defense, said that the spare parts will be used to support M1A2 Abrams tanks, M2 Bradley fighting vehicles, high mobility multipurpose wheeled vehicles, equipment, support vehicles and other related logistics support. The proposed sale will strengthen the US foreign policy and national security through helping to enhance the security of an ally that is seen as an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Middle East. If approved by the Congress, the sale will permit the Royal Saudi Land Forces Ordnance Corps to continue to buy required repair parts to preserve their military fleet, construction equipment, and support vehicles and equipment.
