Sharjah International adds 200 weekly flights

(MENAFN) Sharjah International Airport said that it will witness an increase of 200 weekly flights as airlines commence their summer schedule, Gulf News reported. The increase is partially driven by runway repairs at Dubai International Airport, as the number of flights out of it is dropping by 26 percent due to capacity constraints with some airlines, shifting to Sharjah International. This increase in weekly flights will come from a mixture of commercial and cargo carriers including Sri Lankan Airlines, Qatar Airways and Saudi Cargo. "Recently, the airport appointed 100 passport control officers, and opened 20 additional check-in counters to ease the travel and immigration formalities," stated the Chairman of Sharjah Airport Authority.
