    UAE's Drake and Scull wins USD29m contract

    (MENAFN) Drake & Scull International (DSI) has been granted a USD29.94 million worth construction contract for the Plaza View, a mixed-use development in Abu Dhabi, according to the Emirates 24/7. DSI has been awarded the contract by Al Fara'a General Contracting (AFGCO), who is the main contractor for the project. DSI will be responsible for the engineering detailing, procuring, installing, testing, commissioning and handover of MEP systems, including water supply works, drainage, firefighting, central LPG, air-conditioning and ventilation, and the complete electrical system on site. Khaldoun Tabari, CEO and Vice-Chairman of DSI, said: "Abu Dhabi is a vital market for DSI, forming nearly 11 per cent of our backlog. With increasing demand for residential and commercial properties in Abu Dhabi, the construction sector in our capital city is expanding rapidly. DSI is well-prepared to carry out large scale projects."
