UAE- Al Quoz project saves USD1.08m yearly
(MENAFN) A project that links Al Quoz Industrial areas 1, 2, 3 and 4 to the sewage network is expected to extend 43,500 cubic meters of wastewater per day when complete by the end of 2015, Emirates 24/7 reported.
The Drainage and Irrigation Department of Dubai Municipality has embarked on the implementation of the sewerage system and rainwater drainage project in the area costs USD22.86 million.
Hussain Nasser Lootah, Director General of Dubai Municipality, said that the project includes the extension of sewage and storm water drainage to areas of labor accommodation located in Al Quoz Industrial areas as it consists of stores, warehouses and a variety of industrial workshops, in addition to workers' accommodations and some shops.
The total area of the region covered by the project is 1,026 hectares and consists of 1,424 plots including 306 workers' accommodations. With the connection of the area to the sewage network, owners will save an average of USD272 thousand to USD1.08 million a year, as 300 tanks of wastewater collection will be cancelled, he pointed out.
