Gulf Air, Cisco sign partnership for IT infrastructure upgrade
(MENAFN) Gulf Air announced it signed a partnership with Cisco Technology Solutions to implement a comprehensive redesign of the carrier's entire information technology (IT) network infrastructure, Gulf Daily News reported.
Under this partnership, Cisco will integrate unified data center architecture with intelligent, cloud-ready networks, which will help Gulf Air tighten security, increase business agility and have a higher availability as well as improving its data center.
The Gulf Air network infrastructure upgrade will also include a broad selection of Cisco solutions and services which are designed to take advantage of the private cloud foundation, which can deliver IT as a service and will help the airline to reduce costs and raise its efficiency.
"Gulf Air's energy-efficient IT data center is recognized as one of the most environment-friendly in Bahrain. With this achievement we have taken the first step towards virtualizing Gulf Air's network infrastructure in expanding our private cloud which is a pioneer initiative in this region," Gulf Air IT Director said.
