    Madinah's new Pilgrim City to cost USD13b

    (MENAFN) The Saudi government announced that work on the first phase of the USD13.32 billion King Abdullah Pilgrim City in Madinah has begun as part of its efforts to further improve services given to the guests of God who come for Haj and Umrah every year, Arab News reported.

    The project, which will cover an area of over 1.6 million square meters and will accommodate 200.000 people, is set to include a 400-bed hospital and a railway as well as a bus station.

    The Saudi Ministry of Finance said the total cost of the project is expected to exceed USD13.32 billion, with the first phase being worth USD879.59 million while the second phase will cost USD719.66 million.
