Chinese Almaden to build USD29.94m plant in Dubai
(MENAFN) Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority (DSOA) announced it has signed an agreement with Chang Zhou Almaden, a Chinese solar firm, for the hosting of its new USD29.94 million manufacturing and training facility in Dubai, Gulf Business reported.
Almaden, one of the world's largest producers of photovoltaic anti-reflective coated glass, is expected to construct a 15,000 square meter factory in Dubai Silicon Oasis' tech park, with a production capacity reaching up to 400,000 PV panels every year, as well as containing a traoning center which will be focused on raising awareness on green energy and sustainable solutions for the MENA region and is expected to be done by 2015.
The plant will also produce specialized super thin dual glass PV panels,
which will suit the desert climate, especially for residential buildings, car parking areas, green houses, roof tops and solar farms, and will allow minimal power loss in high humidity and high temperature environments.
"The Middle East is rapidly gaining international attention as an emerging market for solar energy. This has led to high uptake for innovative technologies. Dubai offers an international platform with comprehensive regional reach, providing Almaden the perfect location to establish its regional manufacturing facility," CEO of Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority said.
