Emirates Airlines targets profit growth by 8-10 percent

(MENAFN) Emirates Airline, the Dubai's flagship carrier, announced it is planning to increase its profit by 8-10 percent in the coming months with the help of new aircraft and fresh routes, Arabian Business reported.

"We will continue to grow at a percentage which is never going to be less than about 8-10 percent, and that's a conservative figure," Emirate Airline CEO said.

Despite being one of the strongest carriers in the region, Emirates' profit has been affected by currency risks that are happening around the globe, which resulted in the carrier posting an 8 percent growth during the first half of the year, despite the decline in fuel prices

The airline also said that it is expecting to take delivery of three new A380 superjumbos in the next four weeks, taking the total of the aircrafts they currently have to 57, as well as receiving 28 new aircraft by March 2015, which will include 16 A380s and 12 of Boeing's wide-body 777-300 ERs.
