Dubai Chamber exports hit USD65.59 in Jan.-Oct
(MENAFN) Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry's total value of exports reached USD65.59 billion during the January-October period of 2014, registering an annual growth of about 1 percent compared with the same period last year, while exports for October were valued at USD5.96 billion, Khaleej Times reported.
The GCC remained the largest export market of Dubai Chamber, with exports to the region amounting to USD1.03 billion in October, equaling to 63 percent of the total of exports during the month, though it declined by 1percent.
In term of GCC countries, Saudi Arabia topped the list, with the country receiving 54 percent of the total exports at a value of USD2.04 billion, followed by Qatar with 13 per cent, Kuwait at 12 per cent, the UAE with 10 per cent, Oman 7 percent, and Bahrain with 4 percent of total exports.
While in terms of countries outside the GCC, Egypt topped the list as it surpassed Iraq for exports to Arab countries during the month of October, with a value of USD272.19 million, registering a growth by 17 percent compared with September and a growth by 44 percent compared with the same month last year.
Other countries included India, with its exports amounting to USD149.70 million, thus registering a growth by 62 per cent, while the value of exports to Yemen reached USD84.38 million, and the value of exports Jordan amounted to about USD127.93 million, while Ethiopia's exports were at about USD103.43 million and Algeria at about USD57.16 million.
