    Qatar's Ashghal signs USD1.5b construction deals

    (MENAFN) Qatar's Public Works Authority (Ashghal) signed 12 contracts at an estimated value of USD1.50 billion for the construction and development of integrated infrastructure, the construction of networks and sewage treatment facilities in the country, QNA reported.

    Ashghal said that the value of the contracts it awarded from the beginning of this year has reached USD7.13 billion, with the signing of these new contracts.

    The Authority said that the contracts signed during this year included infrastructure projects, with an estimated worth of USD6.17 billion, as well as buildings contract worth more than USD 685.94 million.

    Asghal also said that next year it is planning to begin the execution of a number of infrastructure projects within the local roads and drainage program and the development and improvement of facilities.

    "The construction contracts that we are in the process of signing today are worth putting under the spotlight as the execution of these projects is a major step within the authority's framework in the field of infrastructure," Asghal's President said on the sidelines of the signing ceremony.
