Oman inflation stands at 0.95 percent in November
(MENAFN) Oman's annual inflation rate has stood at 0.95 percent in November 2014 compared with the same period last year, while it increased by 0.1 percent compared with the figure recorded in October, Times of Oman reported.
The recent figures, which were released by the National Center for Statistics and Information (NCSI), indicated that in November, the food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 1.2 percent, while housing, water, electricity, gas and other grew by 0.32 percent and that furnishings, household equipment & routine household maintenance grew by 6.23 percent.
During the same period, education costs recorded an increase of 4.51percent, while, health costs increased by 4.96 percent and communications costs rose by 5 percent, and hotel and restaurant costs increased by 0.66 percent, while tobacco prices increased by 1.72 percent.
Compared with October, the report shows the inflation rate in November increased by 0.1 percent, with the increase being attributed to the rise of food and non-alcoholic beverages by 0.36 percent, as well as the rise in the prices for housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels, which rose by 0.03 percent and the prices tobacco increasing by 0.7 percent.
On the other hand, costs of health declined by 0.04 percent, as well as communication costs, which declined by 0.02 percent, and recreation and culture prices, which declined by 0.03 percent, while the cost of clothing and footwear, furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance and education remained stable in November in comparison of October.
