Qatar to bind to USD200b infrastructure spending plan

(MENAFN) Qatar is set to stick to its USD200 billion spending plan on infrastructure, despite the fall in global oil prices, according to the state's premier, Arab News reported.

Qatar will maintain its plans to spend heavily on development projects in the run-up to the football World Cup in 2022, with 2015 witnessing alone a USD30 billion worth of new infrastructure projects.

The country is spending on approved major projects such as developing the country's railway network and building a new port. "We reiterate our commitment to investment infrastructure, health and education," Qatari premier said.
