    Jordan energy imports reaches 96.1 percent of local demands

    (MENAFN) Jordan imports 96.1 percent of its domestic energy demands, according to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) which highlighted the Kingdom's crucial dependency on foreign imports, Jordan News Agency reported.

    The IMF also reported that lessening of this dependency is going to carry through a great economic impact on the Kingdom, depending upon the global oil prices for the next ten years.

    The IMF also found that the percentage of energy imports to gross domestic product (GDP) jumped to 16.2 percent in 2013, from 7.5 percent in 2000.
