    Kuwait inflation jumps to 3.5 percent in June

    (MENAFN) Kuwait's Consumer Prices Index (CPI), a main gauge of inflation, recorded a 3.54 percent upsurge in June compared to the same month in the previous year, Arab Times reported.

    During June 2015, the index figure recorded an increase of 137.4 by 0.44 percent as a result of rise in prices of some major groups with leading figures in the movement.

    This index uses the year 2007 as the base year. Data show June inflation at its highest since April 2012. Prices of food and beverages rose 3.6 percent year on year and 0.7 percent month on month.

    Housing costs, which contribute to approximately 29 percent of consumer expenses, increased by 6.5 percent from a year ago and rose 0.8 percent from the previous month.
