Dubai's Dewa launches new USD28.85m substation

(MENAFN) Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) said it launched a new 132/11kV substation, with a cost of USD28.85 million and a capacity of 150 megavolt amperes (MVA) in Dubai Academic City.

The constructing cost USD24.22 million, while extending 132kV ground cables to connect the station to the electricity transmission network cost USD4.62 million, to meet the growing demand for electricity.

The station supports Dewa's strategy, a key component of the Dubai Plan 2021, to establish Dubai's leading regional position as a role model for the efficiency and effectiveness of electricity and water infrastructure.

"We are strengthening our infrastructure and service facilities according to the highest international standards. This contributes to moving the UAE's economy forward," Dewa CEO said.
