UAE-Italy joint trade totals to USD7b in 2014

(MENAFN) The UAE-Italy dual trade stood at USD7 billion in 2014, reflecting more than 50 percent of its trade with GCC countries, according to the CEO of Expo Centre Sharjah speaking after his visit to Italy.

With the UAE accounting for nearly half of USD1 trillion construction projects under way in the GCC, the Meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE) industry is attracting attention from across the world.

Furthermore, the UAE has become as one of top destinations for MICE in Europe, Asia and the Middle East, on the back of its central geographic location, significant trade activity and a stable political system, among others.

Back to the main subject, the UAE joint trade with the GCC countries totaled to USD13.5 billion in 2014 and is likely to see double-digit expansion driven by growing demand for jewelry and industrial machinery, plus from agro-foods.
