    Oman posts 0.21 percent in yearly inflation over Jan-Sep

    (MEANFN) Oman had its annual inflation which is calculated by the movement in the average consumer price index (CPI) standing at 0.21 per cent over the first nine months.

    The overall assets of conventional commercial banks amplified by 13.6 percent to USD72.2 billion in September as opposed to USD63.3 billion reported in the previous year.

    Banks spent USD1 billion on government Treasury Bills as at the end of Sep, thus Commercial banks' investments in foreign securities stood at USD1.6 billion at the end of the cited month.

    However, Commercial banks' overall investments in securities dropped by 10.9 percent to USD6.9 billion as at the end of September from USD7.7 billion registered in the prior year.
