    Oman trade surpass despite fall in export income

    (MENAFN) Oman's trade balance throughout the Jan-July period of this year, recorded a surplus of USD 4,092mn, despite the decline of 31.7 percent in exports.

    Moreover, merchandise exports, which include oil and gas, non-oil exports and re-exports recorded a decline of 40 percent, 7.1 per cent and 22.9 per cent.

    However; merchandise imports, posted a decrease of 0.7 percent through the period to USD 16.76mn, against USD 16.89mn a year earlier.

    Additionally, oil and gas exports suffered a 40 percent fall to USD 12.34mn, compared with USD 20.59mn during the cited period a year earlier.
