    Jordan to receive USD250m from World Bank in August

    (MENAFN) Jordan was unveiled to be receiving USD250 million in August from the World Bank, an amount aimed at backing Jordanian reforms.

    The news has been declared by World Bank vice president for Middle East and North Africa, Ferid Belhaj during a press conference held in Amman.

    The World Bank vice president explained the move as the second part of the USD500 million pledged for Jordan in June.

    Belhaj confirmed that the first USD250 million have been delivered to the Kingdom a week ago.

    He added that the purpose behind the pledge was to strengthen Jordan's economy and business through cuts on business costs, promoting competition and boosting exports.
