Sudan's August inflation rate jumps 66.82 percent

(MENAFN) Sudan was unveiled to have seen a surge in its rate of inflation by 66.82 percent in the end of August, compared to 63.94 percent in July.

The figures of which the state statistics agency released have come amid an economic crisis hitting Sudan.

Sudan's inflation rate was shown to have recorded over 50 percent surge in January, when subsidy reductions driven a hike in foods.

The inflation rate has been registering constant hikes, even after all the efforts made to tackle the price increases through tough restrictions on money withdrawals.
