Iran, Japan to commence banking plans soon

(MENAFN) Iran reached a decision with Japan to commence joint banking businesses in the short term, announced Japan's Ambassador to Iran Mitsuo Saito in Tehran.

This comes following talks between the envoy and Abdolnaser Hemmati, Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

Saito noted that Iran is witnessing a great number of Japanese firms active in the country in the face of U.S. sanctions.

He added that Iran has been delivering in the last two months 200,000 barrels of oil to Japan, with the two sides determined to maintain their trade and economic ties.
