    S. Sudan forecast for 5 percent economic growth

(MENAFN) South Sudan's central bank forecasts the country to register a 5 percent economic growth for this year, beating years of narrow performance.

This projected boost is attributed to relative stability that has been achieved after a peace agreement secured last year as well as higher international oil prices, as explained Bank of South Sudan governor Dier Tong Ngor.

According to the governor, the likely increase is also driven by optimistic trend to tough monetary policies that contributed in slashing inflation and an astounding exchange rate.

Ngor stated: "with these developments in the general macroeconomic environment in the country, the improvements in the real sector of the economy and the signs of monetary sector stability, the Bank of South Sudan projects the GDP growth to reach five percent by the end of 2019."
