    USD17.7b Libyan gov't expenditure

(MENAFN) Libyan government expenditure stood at USD17.7 billion from January to June of this year, as announced the Central Bank of Libya in a statement it issued on Monday.

According to the central bank, "the amount of government spending in the first half of this year reached 24.9 billion dinars, while the surplus in revenues exceeded 1.1 billion dinars."

Oil revenues during the first half of 2019 further accounted for USD20.2 billion, as the statement revealed.

This comes as the country suffered over USD140 billion losses over oilfields shutdowns and registered a drop in foreign exchange reserves.
