Jordan explores bolstering economic ties with Sri Lanka

(MENAFN) On Monday, Chairman of the Jordan Chamber of Commerce (JCC), Senator Nael Kabariti, talked about methods of improving economic and commercial collaboration among Sri Lanka and Jordan, with Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Shirin Shanika Dissanayake.

The Senator pointed at the strong Jordanian-Sri Lankan associations, saying that they have witnessed constant growth and expansion in several fields, specifically trade and tourism domains.

He also called on Sri Lanka to develop the Kingdom's strategic location as a strategic gateway for dealing out Sri Lankan goods to Arab countries, expressing the chamber's readiness to collaborate and organize with the embassy and explore the chances of collaboration.

Jordan imports tea and coconuts from Sri Lanka and exports cotton fabrics, calcium carbonate, copper, seeds and fertilizers.

The Sri Lankan ambassador stressed the meaning of improving bilateral trade collaboration, calling for holding a mutual business gathering linking representatives of both countries' private sector, which will be a main platform for exchanging expertise and data.
