    Turkey: daily electricity usage drop by 4.81 percent

    (MENAFN) Official figures of Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) showed that, on Saturday, Turkey's daily electricity usage dropped by 4.81 percent to 791,805 megawatt-hours.


    According to data from TEIAS, hourly power usage peaked at 19:00 local time with 37,445 megawatt-hours and the country's electricity usage decreased to its lowest point of 28,380 megawatt-hours at 05:00.


    On Saturday, total electricity production arrived at 780,940 megawatt-hours, with a 5.44 percent drop in comparison with the previous day; the majority of output came from imported coal plants amounting 195,376 megawatt-hours.


    Natural gas and lignite plants followed with 172,423 megawatt-hours and 135,405 megawatt-hours, respectively and Turkey's electricity exports totaled to 1,931 megawatt-hours while imports amounted 12,886 megawatt-hours, on Saturday.
