    Cinema industry thrives in Sudan

(MENAFN) Sudan has been witnessing a thriving cinema industry ever since the ouster of former President Omar al-Bashir, whom his reign suspended services at cinema halls and closed theater doors.

Youth in Sudan worked to recover the traditional cinema industry as they carried out several projects aimed at pushing for movie production, arranging training programs along with rehabilitating the cinema production infrastructures and cinema halls.

"There is a great cultural movement prevailing in the country... The revolution has offered the young men great expectations, where they now have greater ambitions. These are positive atmospheres that enhance creativity in all the cultural aspects," as affirmed Faisal Mohamed Saleh, Sudanese Culture and Information Minister.

Meanwhile, Sudan's Filmmakers Association deputy chairman Abdel-Rahman Mohamed Abdel-Rahman emphasized: "life has started to return to the cinema sector in Sudan due to success of December movement and the positive atmosphere that followed."
