    Turkey's benchmark stock index drops 1.38 percent from previous close

    (MENAFN) On Wednesday, Turkey's benchmark stock index ended at 85,576.61 points, falling 1.38 percent in comparison with the earlier close.


    Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index began the day at 84,776.51 points; starting from the daily close, it had lost 931.58 points in comparison with Tuesday's close of 86,777.69 points; the index was among 84,302.70 points and 87,824.55 points during the day.


    With a daily trading volume of USD444 million, the total market worth of the BIST 100 was around USD91.1 billion by market close.


    Data from Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets showed that, the worth of one ounce of gold was USD1, 503.45 by market close, which is an increase in comparison with USD1, 470.40 at the last close.
