    43 African countries close borderlines as coronavirus infections surpass 225,000 continentwide

    As total number of coronavirus cases exceeded 225,105 on Saturday, June 13th continentwide, 43 African countries are now under full border closure due to the rapid expansion of COVID-19.

    The total number of deaths from the coronavirus outbreak has come into 6,040, as 102,846 infected people have recovered, as stated by the latest data from the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC).

    According to the Africa CDC, northern African region is the most affected area continentwide both in terms of positive coronavirus infections and the number of deaths.

    The highly affected African countries are distributed as follows; South Africa, Egypt, Morocco, Djibouti, Nigeria, and Algeria, said the specialized healthcare agency of the African Union (AU) Commission.

    Some countries on Saturday, June 13th registered new records for their daily caseload for COVID-19.
