UNICEF dispatches coronavirus medical protective supplies to Yemen's Sanaa

    (MENAFN)

Yemen's health authorities curbed by the Houthi militia stated that a shipment of protective supplies for health workers to fight coronavirus landed at Sanaa Airport on Saturday, June 13th.

The cargo, including 19 tons of supplies, was sent by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to help control the expansion of the virus in the war-ravaged country, the authorities stated.

It was the second medical cargo by the UNICEF to Sanaa in two weeks, they added.

The past month, local health authorities declared the spread of coronavirus pandemic in several provinces in northern Yemen, as the capital Sanaa.

In the meantime, the internationally recognized government required donors and relevant international humanitarian organizations to support Yemen in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
