    Turkish shares post growth in Friday trading

    (MENAFN) The Turkish benchmark stock index rose by 0.20 percent or 2.24 points on Friday's morning trading, reaching 1,152.74 points compared to Thursday's close.

    The BIST 100 index of Borsa Istanbul was 0.17 percent down at 1,150.49 points at the earlier projection, with a day-on-day transaction volume of 18.8 billion Turkish liras (USD 2.37 billion).

    As of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT, the US dollar / Turkish lira exchange rate went up to 7.9510 ), as opposed to 7.9270 at the previous trading.

    The exchange rate of the euro / Turkish lira also expanded from 9.3060 to 9.3640, whereas one British pound exchanged for 10.3210 Turkish liras, higher than the Thursday closure at 10.2750.
