    Turkey's home sales decline by 16.3 percent in October

    (MENAFN) The Turkish statistical office revealed Monday in a statement that the country witnessed an annual 16.3-percent decrease to a total of 119,574 home sales during October.

    The data compiled by TurkStat showed that almost 37,000 freshly-established houses were sold, while last month the remainder were second-hand purchases.

    Mostly with 18.6 percent or 22,270 sales, Istanbul, Turkey's largest city by country's population had the lion"s share of home sales.

    With 10,624 and 6,846 house sales, respectively, the capital of Ankara and the Aegean province of Izmir followed in second and third ranks.

    This October, property sales to foreigners increased annually by 23.1 percent to 5,258 units.
