    Value of Iran’s export to Iraq increases 28 percent in 1st 6 months

    (MENAFN)According to the secretary-general of Iran-Iraq Joint Chamber of Commerce, the value of Iran’s export to Iraq increased 28 percent in the first six months of the current year in comparison to the previous year same time span.

    Iran exported 13.9 million tons of products worth USD3.8 billion to its neighbor Iraq in the mentioned period of the year, which also shows 50 percent improvement in terms of weight, Jahanbakhsh Sanjabi Shirazi further declared.

    The official also stated that the country’s non-oil export to Iraq amounted at 9.3 million tons worth USD2.971 billion in the previous year same time span.

    "China and Turkey are our traditional competitors in the Iraqi market, but we are witnessing the movement of countries such as Saudi Arabia and Jordan, which plan to take a lasting share and take over the Iraqi market," Shirazi added.
