Lebanese Lira loses about 90 percent of its worth

(MENAFN) Antoine Haddad who is an owner of a restaurant has been running his business for more than 35 years but states that he is losing hope as Lebanon is dealing with one of the extreme financial catastrophes of modern times.

The Lebanese Lira lost about 90 percent of its worth in the past couple of years, driving three quarters of its citizens into poorness.

As for Haddad, the change between this and other financial catastrophes that Lebanon has went through, counting the 1975-1990 civil war, is that it seems like it is not ending soon.

The restaurant owner stated, "previously, you had hope that: 'tomorrow the war will end, we do this and that and go back to where we were', but this time there is no hope."
