Emirates makes investment of USD1b amidst increase in freight demand

(MENAFN) Emirates, the largest airline and carrier in the world, placed an order of two new Boeing 777 freighters at the Dubai Airshow and aims to change four of its Boeing 777-300ER passenger airplanes into cargo-planes in a USD1 billion (Dh3.6bn) investment amidst an increase in air freight need internationally.

Emirates stated on Monday that the two new Boeing 777-Fs are going to enroll in the fleet in the upcoming year, whereas the airplane adaptations are going to occur sometime between 2023 and 2024 as the airline plans to enlarge its freighter capacity.

Chairman and chief executive of Emirates airline and group, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed, stated "this underscores our commitment to supporting our customers’ requirements, and reflects our confidence in our future growth and status as one of the largest airline cargo carriers in the world."
