    Iran sustains its position as one of top 10 steel producers internationally

    (MENAFN) Based on the most recent report published by the World Steel Association (WSA), Iran has sustained its rank as the 10th largest steel manufacturer in the globe during the first ten months of this present year.

    Output of crude steel in Iran hit 22.4 million tons in the stated period to record a 5.7 percent drop on an annual basis, the report said. The WSA’s research put the crude steel production by the top 64 manufacturers internationally at around 1.607 billion tons in the mentioned time frame, recording a surge of 5.9 percent.

    Monthly crude steel production of Iran amounted at 2.2 million tons during October of this year, dropping 15.3 percent in comparison to the figure for September last year, whereas the world’s manufacturers succeeded to produce 145.7 million tons of crude steel to record a 10.6-percent fall on a yearly basis.

    Manufacturing 877.1 million and 96.9 million tons of crude steel, China and India were at the first and second places in the mentioned time span, respectively, whereas Japan was set at third place making 80.4 million tons of crude steel.
