    Central banks of Turkish, Turkmenistan to sign collaboration deal

    (MENAFN) The central banks of Turkey along with Turkmenistan signed a deal to expand collaboration, based on an announcement by Turkish Central Bank that was published on Tuesday.

    The announcement also stated that the banks inked a memorandum of understanding as of Saturday, "laying the groundwork for continued cooperation."

    On Saturday Turkey and Turkmenistan inked eight agreements while on the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's trip to the Central Asian nation to join the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) summit. Moreover, the two nations aim for a USD5 billion two-sided trade volume.

    According to Erdogan’s statement at a joint news conference together with his Turkmen partner Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, "we are determined to take the necessary steps to increase our trade volume to $5 billion, as planned."
