    Turkish major stock index jumps over 2,000 points to hit new record

    (MENAFN) On Wednesday, the Turkish major stock index closed with profits, jumping more than 2,000 points for the first time ever.

    The index reached another record ending of 2,004.55 points and the record high in one day of 2,012.14 points throughout the trading session.

    Beginning the day at 1,997.15 points, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index increased 23.51 points, or 1.19 percent, from the last ending of 1,981.04 points. Moreover, the lowest worth of the index throughout the day was 1,977.85 points, whereas its everyday high was 2,012.26 points.

    The overall market worth of the BIST 100 was about 1.6 trillion Turkish liras (USD118.2 billion) by market end, with an everyday trading capacity of nearly 50.5 billion Turkish liras (USD3.7 billion).
