    Turkish budget balance records USD2.1b surplus last month

    (MENAFN) According to the Turkish Treasury and Finance Ministry announcement on Wednesday, the country’s central government budget balance registered a surplus of 32 billion Turkish liras (USD2.1 billion) during the previous month.

    Moreover, the figure stood at 13.4 billion Turkish liras (USD920 million) during the corresponding month of past year.

    The nation’s budget profits increased 52.9 percent on a yearly basis to 167.8 billion liras (USD11.5 billion) last month. Turkey’s budget expenses amounted at 135.7 billion liras (USD9.2 billion), soaring by 40.9 percent from last year.

    The budget balance, without interest payments, registered a surplus of 47.3 billion liras (USD3.2 billion), whereas the figure for the previous year stood at 22.9 Turkish liras.
